POSITION OVERVIEW:
We are seeking an experienced Manufacturing Engineer to support manufacturing operations by translating complex engineering drawings and parts lists into clear, comprehensive work instructions and driving continuous process improvements.
The ideal candidate will have hands‑on manufacturing floor experience, along with expertise in technical work instructions and composites fabrication and/or optical assemblies. This role will focus on improving build efficiency, quality, cost, and delivery through advanced technologies and Lean manufacturing practices.
ROLES & RESPONSIBILITIES
- Create comprehensive work instructions based on engineering drawings and parts lists.
- Implement automation and advanced technologies to improve build efficiency.
- Lead Root Cause Corrective Action (RCCA) and Lean Six Sigma improvement projects.
- Develop and implement manufacturing process improvements to reduce cost and improve quality.
- Support initiatives designed to accelerate product delivery.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to resolve manufacturing challenges.
- Apply engineering and manufacturing principles to improve production processes.
BASIC QUALIFICATIONS
- Bachelor's or Master's degree in Aerospace, Mechanical, Manufacturing, Materials, Engineering, or a related discipline.
- 3+ years of experience writing technical work instructions.
- 3+ years of experience with composites fabrication and/or optical assemblies.
- 3+ years of experience working in a manufacturing floor environment.
- Ability to work effectively in a cross-functional, team-oriented environment.
PREFERRED / DESIRED SKILLS
- Detailed knowledge of GD&T.
- SAP experience.
- Knowledge of Lean Six Sigma manufacturing concepts and techniques.
- CREO/ProE experience with a focus on tool design.
