Job summary

Cabinetworks Group is seeking an experienced engineering project manager in the United States to lead capital and expense initiatives, define scope, and oversee contractor delivery. You will drive asset life-cycle planning, reliability, and preventive maintenance improvements across manufacturing facilities.

The role requires a bachelor’s degree in engineering, strong knowledge of electrical and mechanical systems, and proven ability to lead cross‑functional teams.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in engineering or equivalent related experience.
• Strong knowledge of electrical and mechanical systems in manufacturing.
• Ability to manage multiple project teams using project management principles.
• Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite and CAD programs (AutoCAD).
• Experience with Microsoft Project and budgeting.

• Prepare capital and expense projects including definition of project and costing.
• Prepare engineering prints, SOW and RFQ documents and manage contractors.
• Monitor life cycle asset management and identify facility needs.
• Improve reliability and reduce operating costs through maintenance strategies.
• Provide engineering support and assist in new product development processes.
• Lead cross-functional teams during process changes and manufacturing footprint changes.
• Oversee project timelines and budget responsibilities.
• Lead on-site installation of new equipment and improvements to processes.
• Support manufacturing operations including new product introductions and cost savings.
• Conduct failure mode and effects analyses for assets and processes.

PRINCIPAL FUNCTIONAL RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Prepare capital and expense projects including definition of project and costing
• Prepare all engineering prints, Statement of Work and related Request for Quotes (RFQ) and manage contractors through implementation of project
• Proactively monitor life cycle asset management and identify facility and equipment needs and manage performance to achieve established thresholds
• Continuously improve the reliability of the facilities and equipment including operating cost reductions and proactive maintenance procedures
• Provide engineering support to plant as needed and help improve preventative maintenance strategies
• Participate in the identification and implementation of new product development process including definition of manufacturing capability requirements to ensure facility has manufacturing capability to produce products
• Manage manufacturing projects to include project timelines and budget responsibility
• Lead new equipment purchase and support on-site installation
• Lead cross-functional teams in implementation of new processes, process changes, or significant manufacturing footprint changes
• Provide support to manufacturing operations including new product introductions, cost savings analysis, quality initiatives, compliance initiative, and plant closures/idling of operations
• Conduct failure mode and effect analysis for assets and processes within the plant
• Develops and conducts performance planning evaluation assessments on critical assets
• Monitor Overall Equipment Effectiveness with facility

ESSENTIAL QUALIFICATIONS AND SKILLS:

• Bachelor’s degree in engineering or equivalent related experience
• Sound knowledge of Manufacturing Electrical and Mechanical Systems
• Ability to manage multiple project work teams using applied principles of project management
• Proficient computer skills required, including Microsoft Office Suite
• Excellent interpersonal and communication skills with the ability to interact with all levels of the organization
• Experience and proficiency with Microsoft Project and CAD programs (AutoCAD)
• Excellent project management and budgeting skills with a deadline orientation and focus
• Proven successful record managing multiple engineering projects
• Use task and timeline management tools, Lead project status meetings and distribute meeting minutes
• Ability to travel up to 10% supporting and coordinating other sites when needed

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS AND SKILLS:

• 3 years’ engineering project management and/or engineering/maintenance management experience in an industrial manufacturing environment
• Significant experience in wood processing and furniture or cabinet assembly in large scale production operations
• Product development support experience
• Lean Process experience

The salary range for this position is $100,000 to $120,000 annually.
