Job summary

Thermon is seeking a Manufacturing Engineer to align internal teams with external demands and drive strategic plans in our Texas manufacturing operations. The role focuses on designing and developing equipment and processes, supporting lean initiatives, and delivering on budgets and schedules.

You will lead cross-functional efforts to implement new product designs into production, own execution plans, and support continuous improvement across operations.

Qualifications

  • Engineering degree with 4 years relevant experience.
  • Lean Manufacturing experience.
  • Self-motivated and willing to learn.
  • Expert level in Microsoft Office tools.
  • Proficient with SolidWorks.

Responsibilities

  • Lead efforts to develop new process technology to support manufacturing of existing products and implementing new product designs into production.
  • Own detailed execution processes behind manufacturing orders/projects with the support of our operations team.
  • Complete special project/tasks and duties as assigned associated with product and equipment design, testing and commissioning.
  • Own continuous improvement initiatives with other teammates across our operations to drive optimal organizational processes.
  • Prioritize own work to meet required schedules and product release deadlines.
  • Support lean activities that may include working towards six-sigma initiatives.
  • Support the improvement of production KPIs: OTD, First pass yield, NCR Pareto, Shop efficiency.
  • Provide technical support to drafting on product and manufacturing routers.
  • Write and update standard operating procedures for operational processes.
  • Design tools and equipment.
  • Provide training for production personnel on manufacturing processes.
  • Develop production drawings and routings based on engineering documentation.
  • Process Returned Material Requests.
  • Perform other duties as assigned, based on workload and business needs.

Overview

You will collaborate as a key member of the team supporting our operations to meet challenging project budgets and schedule targets for manufacturing projects. The Manufacturing Engineer at Thermon is a self‑starter who works toward implementing an overall strategic plan. Performs engineering work related to designing and developing equipment and processes to support the manufacturing of Thermon's products while supporting the lean initiatives of the organization.

Key Responsibilities and Accountabilities

  • Strong Project Management experience: excellent time management skills with a proven ability to meet deadlines.
  • Lean Manufacturing experience.
  • Self‑motivated, willing to learn.
  • Expert level in Microsoft Office suite of tools.
  • Extensive knowledge of production principles and techniques.
  • Proficient with SolidWorks.
  • Strong technical and analytical background.
Key Characteristics, Competencies and Skills
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills and comfortable with directing and evaluating tasks/activities to supporting team members.
  • Strong analytical and problem‑solving skills with the ability to assess problems or issues with manufacturing equipment.
  • Practical knowledge and use of scheduling tools such as MS Project.
  • Experience in manufacturing, electrical or automation industry.
  • Experience supporting a high‑mix medium‑volume manufacturing or job‑shop organization.
  • Proficiency in presenting information to management and customers.
  • Drive to understand how things work.
