Job summary

Insight Global is seeking a Manufacturing Engineer for our Pleasant Prairie, WI site to develop and implement cost-effective manufacturing processes in line with product specs and quality standards.

The senior engineer will mentor others, drive process improvements, and support launch of new or revised products while ensuring regulatory compliance and efficient production.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree or 6–8 years of related experience.
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office and statistical software (MiniTab/JMP).
  • Experience with DOE, technical writing, data analysis, and problem-solving.
  • Strong communication, leadership, and teamwork skills.

Responsibilities

  • Evaluates manufacturing processes by designing and conducting research programs.
  • Develops manufacturing processes by studying product requirements and testing methods.
  • Improves efficiency by planning workflow, space, and equipment layout.
  • Ensures product and process quality by testing and establishing standards.
  • Creates work instructions and validation documentation for packaging systems to ISO 13485 standards.
  • Provides cost and production planning insights to support schedules and future needs.
  • Prepares product and process reports by collecting and summarizing information and trends.
  • Maintains equipment and provides engineering support for processes and equipment.

Job Description

Our client, a Manufacturer of Medical Devices and Flexible Packaging Solutions, is looking to add Manufacturing Engineers to their Pleasant Prairie, WI site. The Manufacturing Engineer develops and implements optimal, cost-effective manufacturing processes and methods in accordance with product specifications and quality standards; recommends and implements improvements to production processes, methods and controls; coordinates manufacturing launch for new or revised products. The senior manufacturing engineer is expected to leverage their experiences to mentor others, take the initiative to assist in plant decision making and execute tasks with minimal supervision or direction.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Evaluates manufacturing processes by designing and conducting research programs; applying knowledge of product design, fabrication, assembly, tooling, and materials; conferring with equipment vendors when needed; soliciting observations from operators.
  • Develops manufacturing processes by studying product requirements; researching, designing, modifying, and testing manufacturing methods and equipment; conferring with equipment vendors when needed.
  • Improves manufacturing efficiency by analyzing and planning work flow, space requirements, and equipment layout.
  • Assures product and process quality by designing testing methods; testing finished- product and process capabilities; establishing standards; confirming manufacturing processes.
  • Create work instructions and validation documentation for Pouch Header Bag Machines and other automated packaging systems to ISO 13485 standards
  • Provides manufacturing decision-making information by calculating production, labor, and material costs; reviewing production schedules; estimating future requirements.
  • Prepares product and process reports by collecting, analyzing, and summarizing information and trends.
  • Provides manufacturing engineering support for manufacturing processes and equipment.
  • Maintains product and company reputation by complying with government regulations.
  • Keeps equipment operational by coordinating maintenance and repair services; following manufacturer's instructions and established procedures; requesting special service when needed.
  • Completes design and development projects by training and guiding technicians.
  • Maintains professional and technical knowledge by attending educational workshops; reviewing professional publications; establishing personal networks; participating in professional societies (Where applicable).
  • Takes the initiative to mentor others on topics that the senior manufacturing engineer is considered a subject matter expert.
