Job summary

MaximaTek is seeking a Manufacturing Engineer to support the development, optimization, and continuous improvement of manufacturing processes. You will work closely with engineering, production, quality, and supply-chain teams to improve productivity, product quality, safety, and manufacturing efficiency.

This position is suitable for entry-level candidates as well as professionals with several years of manufacturing engineering experience.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree or equivalent in a related engineering field.
• Entry-level considered with relevant academic projects or internships.
• 2–5 years of manufacturing engineering experience for mid-level.
• Strong understanding of manufacturing processes and production systems.
• Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings and specs.

Responsibilities

• Develop, implement, and improve manufacturing processes, procedures, and work instructions.
• Analyze production processes to identify cost reduction and efficiency opportunities.
• Support new product introductions into manufacturing.
• Design and improve layouts, tooling, fixtures, and equipment.
• Troubleshoot manufacturing and equipment issues with production teams.
• Perform root-cause analysis and implement corrective actions.
• Support Lean, Six Sigma, Kaizen programs and continuous improvement.
• Maintain process documentation and SOPs.
• Monitor production metrics (throughput, cycle time, scrap, downtime, yield).
• Collaborate with Quality Engineering to resolve issues.
• Assist with process validation and equipment qualification.
• Support automation and technology improvements.
• Participate in design reviews and manufacturability assessments.
• Evaluate equipment, tools, materials, and methods.
• Ensure compliance with safety and regulatory requirements.
• Prepare engineering reports and technical presentations.
• Support CIP projects from analysis to implementation.

Key Responsibilities

• Develop, implement, and improve manufacturing processes, procedures, and work instructions.


• Analyze production processes to identify opportunities for cost reduction, quality improvement, and increased efficiency.


• Support the introduction of new products and processes into manufacturing.


• Design and improve manufacturing layouts, tooling, fixtures, and production equipment.


• Work with production teams to troubleshoot manufacturing and equipment-related issues.


• Perform root-cause analysis and implement corrective and preventive actions.


• Support Lean Manufacturing, Six Sigma, Kaizen, and continuous-improvement initiatives.


• Develop and maintain process documentation, standard operating procedures, and work instructions.


• Monitor production metrics such as throughput, cycle time, scrap, downtime, and yield.


• Collaborate with Quality Engineering teams to resolve product and process quality issues.


• Assist with process validation, equipment qualification, and production testing.


• Support automation and manufacturing technology improvements where applicable.

• Evaluate manufacturing equipment, tools, materials, and production methods.


• Ensure manufacturing processes comply with applicable safety, quality, and regulatory requirements.


• Prepare engineering reports, process specifications, production documentation, and technical presentations.


• Support continuous improvement projects from initial analysis through implementation.

Required Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Manufacturing Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Industrial Engineering, Production Engineering, or a related field.


• Entry-level candidates may be considered with relevant academic projects, internships, or hands-on manufacturing experience.


• Mid-level candidates should have approximately 2–5 years of relevant manufacturing engineering experience.


• Understanding of manufacturing processes, production systems, and engineering principles.


• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.


• Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings, specifications, and technical documentation.


• Good communication and teamwork skills.


• Ability to work effectively with cross-functional engineering and production teams.


• Proficiency with Microsoft Office tools, including Excel and PowerPoint.

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience with Lean Manufacturing, Six Sigma, 5S, Kaizen, or continuous improvement.


• Familiarity with CAD software such as AutoCAD, SolidWorks, Creo, or CATIA.


• Knowledge of statistical analysis and process improvement techniques.


• Experience with ERP/MRP systems such as SAP, Oracle, or similar platforms.


• Familiarity with manufacturing quality tools such as FMEA, SPC, MSA, and Control Plans.


• Experience with automation, robotics, CNC, assembly, machining, or production equipment.


• Six Sigma Green Belt or similar certification is a plus.
