Job summary

W3Global in New Jersey is seeking a hands-on Mechanical Engineer to improve manufacturing equipment, processes, quality, and overall operational efficiency. You will work closely with production and shop floor teams to troubleshoot issues and implement engineering solutions.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering required; Master's preferred.
• 3-7+ years of manufacturing or mechanical engineering experience.
• Hands-on experience with CNC machining, lathes, welding, fabrication, and shop environments.
• Experience with industrial equipment or heavy machinery preferred.
• ERP experience is required.

This position will work closely with production and shop floor teams to troubleshoot issues, implement engineering solutions, and drive continuous improvement.

Key Responsibilities

• Design, develop, troubleshoot, and improve mechanical equipment, systems, tooling, and manufacturing processes.
• Evaluate production workflows to identify waste, delays, bottlenecks, and efficiency opportunities.
• Drive Lean Manufacturing and continuous improvement initiatives, including 5S and Kaizen.
• Provide hands-on support for machining, CNC, welding, fabrication, and assembly operations.
• Work directly with shop floor personnel to resolve equipment and production problems.
• Create, update, and modify CAD drawings using AutoCAD and SolidWorks.
• Evaluate and recommend new machinery, tooling, equipment, and technology upgrades.
• Support the installation, commissioning, and validation of new equipment.
• Track production performance and establish KPIs related to efficiency and quality.
• Promote compliance with applicable safety standards and industry regulations.
• Train employees on new equipment, processes, tools, and procedures.
• Support ERP system usage for production tracking and process improvement.
• Manage or support engineering projects, including schedules, deliverables, and timelines.

Required Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering required; Master's degree preferred.
• 3-7+ years of manufacturing or mechanical engineering experience.
• Hands-on experience with CNC machining, lathes, welding, fabrication, mechanical systems, and shop environments.
• Experience with industrial equipment or heavy machinery strongly preferred.
• Working knowledge of Lean Manufacturing, 5S, Kaizen, and continuous improvement; Six Sigma/Green Belt preferred.
• ERP experience required.
• Project management experience preferred.

Technical Requirements

• Proficiency in AutoCAD and SolidWorks required, with the ability to provide a portfolio demonstrating previous work.
• Strong understanding of manufacturing processes and equipment design.
• Ability to read, interpret, and modify engineering drawings and blueprints.
• Strong data analysis and process optimization skills.
• Proficient with Microsoft Office, including Excel, Word, Outlook, and PowerPoint.
