Job summary

CSP Innovations, Inc. is seeking an Engineer to support Process, Development and Project Engineering for prototype and new product introductions.

You will lead manufacturing activities, coordinate capital requests and quotes for ECNs, and drive continuous improvement across product lines. The role requires a bachelor degree in mechanical or electrical engineering, 1+ year in project management, and strong knowledge of APQP, SPC, and PLC systems.

Qualifications

• Bachelor degree in Mechanical or electrical engineering.
• Minimum one-year experience with program/project management.
• Familiarity with APQP methodology.
• Experience in an engineering field within a manufacturing environment, preferably automotive supplier.
• Demonstrated cost/financial management experience.
• Thorough knowledge of SPC and statistical data analysis.
• Working knowledge of control systems and PLC programming and systems integration.

• Coordinate manufacturing personnel activities to support prototypes, engineering changes, and new development products.
• Provide leadership for project management and manufacturing activities to improve quality, reduce scrap, and optimize profitability.
• Quote cost and timing for ECNs and new projects, and track financials.
• Develop process line tooling, equipment, fixtures, and layout recommendations for product lines.
• Create process instructions manuals and training aids in line with Quality System procedures and policy.
• Troubleshoot manufacturing process problems and support continuous improvement programs.

Job Description PURPOSE OF POSITION:

The position accomplishes essential engineering functions related to Process, Development and Project Engineering. Provides technical support to develop capable processes and coordinates factory projects related to new product introductions, engineering changes and process improvements.

GENERAL FUNCTIONS AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

Coordinates manufacturing personnel activities to support the manufacture of customer requested prototype, engineering changes to existing product lines and new development products. To develop product and manufacturing technologies and processes that provide high quality products, excellent customer service and optimizes profitability for the company. Provide leadership for project management and manufacturing activities that result in creative and innovative improvements in the way the company manufactures customer products. Functions as project manager for assigned projects, originates capital request (CRs) and purchase orders (POs). Quotes cost and timing for engineering changes (ECNs) and new projects as assigned and tracks financials related to project. Coordinates and provides recommendations for design and development of process line tooling, equipment, work fixtures and optimum layout of an assigned product line. Provide technical services for development of process instructions manuals and key training aids for manufacturing in compliance with the current Quality System procedures and policy. Troubleshooting manufacturing process problems, concerns and issues related to each process line. Support the continuous improvement program by recommending improvements in product quality, reduced scrap, minimize/eliminate rework, improve labor efficiency, material saving and decrease equipment downtime. Control systems integration and programming.

KNOWLEDGE AND SKILLS REQUIRED:

Bachelor degree in Mechanical or electrical engineering Minimum one-year experience with program management. Familiarity with APQP methodology. Experienced in an engineering field within a manufacturing environment, preferably an automotive supplier. Demonstrated cost/financial management experience. Competence in personal computer Windows applications including: Microsoft Project, Microsoft Word and Microsoft Excel. Thorough knowledge of SPC and statistical data analysis. Working knowledge of control systems and plc programming and systems integration.
