Job summary

Test Devices by Schenck in Hudson, MA is seeking a detail-oriented Manufacturing Engineer to drive process improvements, optimize production efficiency, and support the development of innovative manufacturing solutions. The role focuses on improving spin testing, CNC machining, and inspection operations.

You will collaborate with engineering, quality, and operations teams to implement corrective actions, develop tooling and fixtures, and program CNC and CMM equipment.

Qualifications

• 3+ years of manufacturing, engineering, or production experience.
• Experience with CNC and CMM operation/programming.
• Experience developing, implementing, and improving manufacturing processes in a production environment.
• Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings, GD&T, and ASME Y14.5 standards.
• Experience creating and maintaining process documentation, work instructions, and standard operating procedures.
• Strong root cause analysis and troubleshooting skills with the ability to implement corrective actions.

What the Ideal Candidate will do:

The Manufacturing Engineer is responsible for optimizing asset utilization and addressing the technical needs of production by performing the following duties:

• Improve manufacturing processes for spin testing, CNC machining, and inspection operations.
• Support production activities, equipment readiness, and troubleshooting.
• Monitor process performance and implement corrective actions to improve efficiency.
• Develop tooling, fixtures, and process improvements to support production goals.
• Program and optimize CNC machining and CMM inspection equipment.
• Perform dimensional inspections and ensure compliance with engineering specifications.
• Collaborate with engineering, quality, and operations teams to solve manufacturing challenges.
• Drive continuous improvement initiatives focused on safety, quality, and productivity.

Requirements:

• US Citizen / Being able to work on ITAR projects.
• 3+ years of relevant manufacturing, engineering, or production experience.
• High school diploma required; Associate's or Bachelor's degree in Engineering preferred.
• Experience with CNC and CMM operation/programming required; experience with Zeiss Calypso preferred.
• Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings, GD&T, and ASME Y14.5 standards.
• Experience with drafting and the use of SolidWorks (or other CAD).Experience developing, implementing, and improving manufacturing processes in a production environment.
• Strong root cause analysis and troubleshooting skills with the ability to implement corrective actions.
• Knowledge of AS9100 / ISO 9001 quality standards, lean manufacturing, or other continuous improvement methodologies.
• Experience creating and maintaining process documentation, work instructions, and standard operating procedures.
• Effectively communication skills.

COMPUTER SKILLS:

Experience with the use of Microsoft Office programs, such as Outlook, Excel, Word, etc. Experience with ERP/MRP system is a plus; SAP preferred.
