Job summary

Insight Global is seeking a Mechanical Engineer who specializes in product assembly for a hands-on, multi-functional role in a smaller plant. You will develop and optimize manufacturing processes, support capital projects, and travel as needed to drive Lean improvements on the floor.

The ideal candidate holds a engineering degree (or equivalent) with CAD experience (AutoCAD/SolidWorks/Creo) and strong problem-solving, communication, and project-management skills.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Associates with 5 years relevant experience or High School Diploma with 10 years relevant experience.
• Must have CAD modeling software experience: AutoCAD, SolidWorks, Creo, etc.
• Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
• Attention to detail and commitment to delivering high-quality solutions.
• Project Management skills.
• Experience in process development.
• Automation/PLC experience.

Responsibilities

• Develop and optimize new manufacturing processes, equipment, and fixtures.
• Perform process capability studies ensuring manufacturing processes are in control.
• Provide technical assistance for facility to assure smooth operation of processes.
• Support the process training for production employees.
• Provide process input for new and redesigned products.
• Work with leadership to troubleshoot processes and equipment.
• Responsible for accuracy of product routing and times.
• Continuously improve the production floor through Lean Manufacturing methods.
• Manage long term capital improvement projects.
• Support and develop processes for facility.
• Travel as needed for project.

This person will be joining a smaller team allowing for a career opportunity to help grow the business. Due to the smaller size of the plant, this person will get the opportunity to be involved in multiple functions of the plant.
