Job summary

Image Associates Inc. in Grand Prairie, TX, seeks a Manufacturing Engineer to coordinate activities across systems fabrication, tooling, welding, robotics, and mechanical assembly.

This role provides engineering support to improve product quality and reduce production costs, with responsibilities including plant layout, process improvements, automation projects, and developing work instructions and fixtures. Some travel up to 10% may be required.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering, Welding Engineering, or similar field.
  • Three+ years of manufacturing engineering experience, preferably with steel fabrication.
  • Experience in automated environments.
  • Experience setting time standards, lean manufacturing, line balancing, and process flow.
  • Some travel up to 10%.

Responsibilities

  • Coordinate activities including systems fabrication, tooling, welding, robotics, and mechanical assembly.
  • Work on plant layout and process improvement projects.
  • Work on automation or robotics projects and write control logic for PLCs and CNC control.
  • Conduct studies to maximize workflow and process utilization.
  • Ensure designs, documentation, and assembly instructions are accurate and maintained.
  • Develop work instructions, fixtures, tooling, and manufacturing equipment.
  • Review production reports and resolve manufacturing and maintenance problems to reduce costs and prevent delays.
  • Develop safe work practices and seek opportunities to improve product and process quality.
  • Work with employees to resolve problems and avoid grievances.

Job description

Steel fabrication company needs a Manufacturing Engineer to coordinate activities including systems fabrication, tooling, welding, robotics, and mechanical assembly. Will provide engineering support to improve product quality and reduce production costs.

  • Work on plant layout and process improvement projects.
  • Will work on automation or robotics projects. Must have some ability to write control logic for PLC’s and CNC control.
  • Conducts studies to maximize workflow and process utilization.
  • Ensures that product designs, documentation, and assembly instructions are accurate, maintained, and effective.
  • Develops work instructions, designs assembly fixtures, tooling, and manufacturing equipment.
  • Reviews production reports and solves manufacturing and maintenance problems, reducing costs and preventing shipping delays.
  • Develops safe work practices. Seek opportunities for improvements in product and process quality.
  • Works with employees to resolve problems and avoid grievances.

REQUIREMENTS

  • Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering, Welding Engineering, or similar field. Will consider partial degree.
  • Should have at least three years’ manufacturing engineering experience, preferably with fabricated or assembled products made of steel or steel parts.
  • Should have experience working in an automated environment.
  • Must have experience setting time standards, lean manufacturing, line balancing, and process flow.
  • Some travel to other company locations, maybe 10%.
