Job summary

Pacer Group is seeking a process engineer for the Powertrain department in the US. You will develop operating process plans to machine or assemble parts, lead the launch of engine/transmission lines, and manage schedules and budgets for your area.

You will collaborate across local and corporate teams, refine tools and benchmarks, and spend time on the shop floor to ensure priorities are met and projects stay on track.

Qualifications

• 3-5 years of post-college experience, non-senior.
• Experience beyond basic CAD work.
• Experience leading machining/assembly lines and cross-functional projects.
• Ability to manage schedules and budgets for assigned areas.
• Willingness to travel domestically and internationally (20%).

Responsibilities

• Develop operating process plans to machine or assemble parts for the Powertrain department.
• Lead, plan, procure, install, trial, and launch engine/transmission machining or assembly lines.
• Create and maintain schedules and budgets for the assigned area.
• Develop/improve standard tools and benchmarks.
• Lead cross-functional groups across local facility and corporate departments to achieve goals.
• Visualize activity plans and schedules to build consensus and secure priorities.
• Analyze manufacturing issues and communicate root causes and countermeasures to stakeholders.
• Spend 20% time on the factory floor; occasional extended hours during holidays.

Requirements:

• Looking for 3- 5 years of experience after college. Not looking for senior candidates (15-20 years of experience).
• Not looking for someone who just has CAD experience and doing the normal work.
• Developing operating process plans to machine or assemble parts for assigned area of the Powertrain department
• Leading, planning, procurement, installation, trial, and launching of engine/transmission machining or assembly lines
• Creating and maintaining schedule and budget for assigned area.
• Experience in process engineering, including schedule and budget management
• AutoCAD experience including the ability to read, interpret and modify
• 3D Cad experience including the ability to read and interpret
• Willingness to work required overtime and travel as needed both domestic and international
• Flexibility for business travel, both domestic and international (Japan possibility is very less) (20%)
• Ability to work weekend and shutdown work (such as July and December holidays) as needed (45 -50 hours a week in general)

RM Notes:

• Looking for Local candidates – 200 miles. Manager had prior experience with non-local candidates that they are not joining the project after offer.
• Looking for Individual who has some project management exposure, Prior machine or assembly experience
