Job summary

Pernod Ricard USA in Fort Smith, AR, is seeking a Manufacturing Engineer to evaluate and improve manufacturing processes. You will design layouts, drive cost-efficiency, and ensure safety and regulatory compliance across operations.

The role requires a degree in manufacturing/industrial/mechanical engineering and 4–5 years of experience. CAD/CAM skills and Lean Six Sigma are preferred, with a hybrid work policy allowing remote up to two days weekly.

Qualifications

  • Degree in manufacturing, industrial, or mechanical engineering is required.
  • 4–5 years of experience in manufacturing or industrial engineering.
  • Experience evaluating and troubleshooting operations, processes, and machinery.
  • Experience using CAD, CAM, data analysis programs, and related software.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Strong organization and management skills.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office (including Visio and Project).
  • Lean Six Sigma Green Belt certification strongly preferred.

Position Summary

Salary range for this role, based in Fort Smith, is $78,300.00 to $97,900.00.

We are looking for a talented manufacturing engineer to evaluate and improve manufacturing processes. Responsibilities include identifying areas for improvement, maintaining high levels of manufacturing and product quality, designing new products and methods, and ensuring cost‑efficiency, conformance with regulatory standards, and safety compliance.

Manufacturing Engineer Duties & Responsibilities
  • Evaluating existing manufacturing processes and identifying areas for improvement.
  • Determining problem resolutions and implementing improvements.
  • Developing detailed layouts for equipment, processes, and workflow.
  • Researching and developing new processes, equipment, and products.
  • Implementing cost‑saving measures and quality control systems.
  • Ensuring manufacturing processes, equipment, and products comply with safety standards and legal regulations.
  • Maintaining research and activity documentation and preparing reports.
  • Analyzing production data to provide recommendations to maintenance & production teams on focus areas.
  • Completing heat map exercises and Pareto production issues from Demeter to align with site priorities.
  • Conducting research to develop new and improved processes for manufacturing.
  • Establishing safety procedures for individuals working with dangerous chemicals.
  • Conducting tests and monitoring the equipment process performance throughout production.
  • Troubleshooting problems associated with manufacturing processes.
  • Evaluating processes and equipment to ensure compliance with environmental and safety regulations.
  • Estimating production costs.
Manufacturing Engineer Skills & Qualifications
  • Analytical skills for troubleshooting designs that do not work as planned, asking the right questions, and finding effective solutions.
  • Ingenuity in applying broad industrial engineering concepts to address specific production problems.
  • Interpersonal skills in developing positive working relationships with other employees involved in the production process.
  • Mathematical skills, including advanced topics and calculus, for analysis and design.
Manufacturing Engineer Education & Experience
  • Degree in manufacturing, industrial, or mechanical engineering required.
  • 4–5 years of experience in manufacturing or industrial engineering.
  • Experience evaluating and troubleshooting manufacturing operations, processes, and machinery.
  • Experience using CAD, CAM, data analysis programs, and related software.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Strong organization and management skills.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office (including Visio and Project).
  • High level of technical expertise.
  • Strong analytical thinker; Lean Six Sigma Green Belt certification strongly preferred.
