Manufacturing Engineer – Pratt & Whitney, Hartford, CT
Job Overview
We are seeking a Manufacturing Engineer to support process development, continuous improvement, and production execution for advanced aerospace components.
Key Responsibilities
- Own part families and drive improvements in key manufacturing processes, including plasma spray coating and laser hole drilling.
- Develop and maintain shop floor work instructions, including specifications, engineering changes, process controls, and tooling requirements.
- Advance Manufacturing Readiness Level (MRL) elements by identifying risks, implementing mitigation plans, and supporting quality performance.
- Collaborate with product engineering, tooling, quality, systems engineering, and other stakeholders to ensure robust manufacturability.
- Support senior leadership with project pipeline activities including selection, prioritization, scoping, and alignment with business and continuous improvement objectives.
- Lead major projects tied to strategic insourcing and operational execution.
- Provide effective leadership in eliminating EH&S, ergonomics, and human‑factor risks, while resolving quality issues.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in engineering or a related technical field and 2+ years of manufacturing engineering experience.
- Ability to obtain a U.S. Secret clearance (required).
- Strong verbal and written communication skills with the ability to influence and collaborate across all levels.
- Familiarity with conventional and/or non‑conventional manufacturing processes, particularly plasma spray and laser drilling technologies.
- Strong analytical and data‑driven problem‑solving skills.
- Ability to work effectively in a team environment.
Desired Proficiencies
- Proficiency in plasma spray processes (robot programming, tooling, surface preparation, masking, etc.).
- Experience with statistics, data analytics, Design of Experiments (DOE), and multivariate analysis.
- Proficiency with SAP and Solumina G7.

Location & Salary
Location: Hartford, CT (US-CT‑EAST). Salary range: $68,900 - $131,100 USD, commensurate with experience.
