Job description

Step into a key engineering role where you'll drive real improvements on the shop floor, streamline complex manufacturing processes, and help deliver high-quality products on time. This is an opportunity to own process optimisation, leverage modern tools like CAD and 3D modelling, and work hands-on with CNC equipment in a stable, growth-focused environment.

About the Role:

As a Manufacturing Engineer, you will be responsible for developing, optimising, and sustaining manufacturing processes to improve safety, quality, cost, and throughput. You will collaborate closely with production, maintenance, and quality teams to implement lean principles and resolve technical issues. Your work will directly influence operational efficiency, equipment reliability, and overall manufacturing performance.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Analyse existing manufacturing processes and identify opportunities for improvement in efficiency, quality, and cost.
  • Develop, document, and implement standardised work instructions, process flows, and layout changes.
  • Lead and support continuous improvement and lean manufacturing initiatives, including Kaizen activities and waste reduction projects.
  • Troubleshoot equipment and process issues on the production floor, providing timely technical support to minimise downtime.
  • Program, set up, and optimise CNC machining processes, including tooling selection and cutting parameter optimisation.
  • Create and update CAD and 3D models for components, fixtures, and tooling to support manufacturing and process changes.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to introduce new products and processes, ensuring smooth transitions into production.
  • Monitor key process metrics and implement corrective actions to maintain process capability and product quality.
Requirements:
  • Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering, Industrial Engineering, or equivalent experience.
  • Significant relevant experience may be considered in lieu of a bachelor's degree.
  • Proven experience as a Manufacturing Engineer or similar role in a precision machining environment.
  • Strong background in process improvement and lean manufacturing methodologies.
  • Background in machining complex components or tight-tolerance parts.
  • Exposure to automation, robotics, or advanced manufacturing technologies.
  • Hands-on experience with CNC machining processes, including setup, programming, and optimisation.
  • Proficiency with CAD and 3D modelling software for designing fixtures, tooling, and process layouts.
  • Strong analytical, problem-solving, and root-cause analysis skills.
  • Effective communication skills and the ability to work collaboratively with production and engineering teams.
