Job summary

NOV is a leading supplier of drilling products with a global footprint. The Conroe facility specializes in downhole products for North America and operates 24/7 to meet demand.

We maintain a 300,000 sq ft fabrication space, advanced CNC equipment, and a strong safety program to ensure employee well-being. We are seeking a Mechanical Engineer with a BS in Mechanical Engineering and hands-on shop experience to evaluate processes, lead improvements, and manage projects related to new equipment and

Qualifications

• B.S. in Mechanical Engineering required.
• Knowledge of Lean Manufacturing and process optimization.
• 3–8 years of mechanical engineering experience; hands-on shop experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Evaluate existing manufacturing processes to identify improvements.
• Apply knowledge of product design and assembly to manufacturing workflows.
• Complete project management for new manufacturing equipment and processes.
• Develop and maintain manufacturing work instructions.
• Analyze costs associated with production and processes.
• Monitor operations to ensure compliance with methods and quality standards.
• Provide technical and hands-on support to the manufacturing shop.
• Other duties as assigned.

What Do We Do Here?

Our Conroe Facility produces downhole products for drilling activities in North America. Our plant has high demand and is operating 24/7 to produce these products for our customers. To meet the demand for our products, we provide employees with an air-conditioned environment, highly organized and clean 300,000 SQ. ft. fabrication facility, new CNC Machines (Mazak, Mori Sieke, DMG Mori, Weiler, etc.), and a strong safety program designed to ensure our team goes home safe to their families after every shift.

• Evaluate existing manufacturing processes and workflows to identify areas that could benefit from changes and improvements
• Apply working knowledge of product design and assembly to the manufacturing processes
• Complete Project Management for new manufacturing equipment and processes
• Development and maintain manufacturing work instructions
• Analyze costs associated with production and processes
• Monitor manufacturing operations to assure compliance with approved methods and quality standards
• Provide technical and hands on support to manufacturing shop as needed
• Other reasonable job duties as assigned

Education & Experience Qualifications

• B.S. Degree in Mechanical Engineering
• Knowledge of Lean Manufacturing
• 3-8 years of Mechanical Engineering Experience
• Any shop or hands on experience required
