Qualifications

  • Experience with MES software and engineering documentation tools (Agile or EPIX).
  • Six Sigma Green Belt certification required.

Responsibilities

  • Provide guidance on equipment manufacturing processes, costs, quality, safety, and environmental compliance.
  • Review logs, product processing sheets, and specification sheets to verify QA adherence.
  • Review and approve work assignments based on performance, capacity, schedules, and delays.
  • Evaluate workflows using MES data to validate deviations from standards.
  • Evaluate development and manufacturing procedures with CAD software.
  • Troubleshoot issues and perform RCA analyses to identify root causes.
  • Recommend changes to methods, layouts, or processes to improve quality and production.
  • Develop design and manufacturing process requirements using engineering documentation software.
  • Operate in a Six Sigma framework to improve production standards.

Job description

Duties Include:

The Manufacturing Engineer will provide support and guidance on all aspects of equipment manufacturing process, including costs, quality, compliance with safety guidelines and environmental requirements for manufacturing. Specific job duties include: review worker logs, product processing sheets, and specification sheets, to verify that records adhere to quality assurance specifications; review and approve work assignments in accordance with worker performance, machine capacity, production schedules, and anticipated delays; review charts, graphs, and diagrams to illustrate workflow, routing, floor layouts, material handling, and machine utilization; evaluate data and reports utilizing manufacturing execution systems (MES) software to validate or indicate deviations from existing standards; evaluate product development and manufacturing procedures using computer-aided design (CAD) software; troubleshoot complications and conduct analysis using Root Cause Analysis (RCA) methodology; recommend modifications to existing quality or production standards to achieve optimum quality within limits of equipment capability; review and develop the design and manufacturing process requirements using engineering documentation software; and, recommend revision to methods of operation, material handling, equipment layout, or other changes to increase production or improve standards. Perform duties in compliance with Six Sigma principles. Job duties are performed in a manufacturing setting to support heavy equipment design and manufacturing process.

Requires:

Master’s Degree in Mechanical Engineering. Requires twenty-four months of prior work experience as a design engineer, industrial engineer, computer engineer, or related field, and such experience must include: professional experience must include work with Computer-Aided Design (CAD) software; utilization of Manufacturing Execution Systems software (MES); utilization of engineering documentation software (such as Agile or EPIX); and Six Sigma Green Belt certification. Must be willing to relocate to unanticipated client site across the U.S. Current placement is in Chillicothe, IL.

Salary:
