Job description

Salary Range: $55-70,000/year + benefits

Division: Bearings & Ignition

SUMMARY OF POSITION:

Develop manufacturing process plans for the company’s products by means of evaluating and selecting major equipment, designing dedicated assembly jigs and fixtures, and fulfilling customer requirements regarding pilot submission samples and various process documentation. Manages Capital Projects. It is the responsibility of the incumbent to take initiatives to retain close communication links with shop floor employees and plant department such as Product Engineering, Quality Control, Manufacturing and Purchasing in order to best perform the functions of the position. Program changes or improvements originate from Production, Quality Control or Product Engineering and must be integrated into the incumbent’s work load so as to be performed in a timely manner.

The incumbent must be capable of handling many different responsibilities simultaneously while monitoring the ever changing priorities. He or she must be sure that all details are given the proper amount of attention when required, so as to not sacrifice one task for that of another.

PRINCIPAL ACCOUNTABILITIES:

  • Provide manufacturing support for new and existing programs by means of preparing designs, drawings, process documentation and soliciting quotations for process assembly equipment.
  • Implement repairs and/or improvements on existing processes and equipment.
  • Take part in and/or lead cross functional teams to accomplish plant/process improvements.
  • Research and evaluate new major manufacturing equipment for possible purchase.
  • Works closely with the product engineering group toward achieving simultaneous engineering.
  • Maintains files relating to products, vendors, component parts, and new technologies.
  • Participate in plans for future plant layouts.
  • Train supervisors, operators and mechanics regarding new or improved processes or equipment.
  • Other duties as assigned from time to time.
  • Perform safety analyses on supported equipment.
Qualifications
  • Requirements for this position are a BS degree in Mechanical (preferred) or Electrical Engineering or equivalent engineering experience.
  • Proficiency in PC based word processing, spreadsheets, database and computer-aided drafting is required. Knowledge of environmental regulations and plant facilities are a plus.

Minimum Experience Requirements:

  • The incumbent should have a working experiences with of common types of manufacturing processes and materials. He or she should possess the experience to conceptualize abstract thoughts concerning shapes, mechanisms and physical relationships.
  • The incumbent should have experiences in communicating with all levels of personnel as the ability to interface well with others and work within strict deadlines is essential. The incumbent must have the experiences to work with minimum supervision, be well organized, willing to take initiatives and keep abreast of rapidly changing advances in manufacturing technology.
