Textron Specialized Vehicles Inc. in Augusta, GA is seeking a Manufacturing Engineer to join the New Product and Design Engineering teams, guiding parts and products from concept through down-the-line to production.

You will implement engineering changes, plan shop layouts, standardize work, and improve material flow and process capability, with a focus on productivity, safety, and cost effectiveness.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering is required.
  • 3+ years of experience in manufacturing engineering or related field.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office, CAD, and SAP is expected.

Responsibilities

  • Work with New Product and Design Engineering teams from concept to down-the-line to ensure smooth introduction of parts into production.
  • Process and implement Engineering Change Notices to ensure design is producible and time standards are defined.
  • Coordinate material and tooling availability with stakeholders.
  • Develop and implement lean work methods and flow to improve productivity and cost efficiency.
  • Provide training and standard work instructions for critical processes.
  • Plan and implement shop layouts to improve material flow and increase plant capacity.
  • Establish time standards for accurate costing and approvals.
  • Evaluate production processes to increase productivity and explore new methods.

Textron Specialized Vehicles markets products under several different brands. Its vehicles are found in environments ranging from golf courses to factories, airports to planned communities, and theme parks to hunting preserves.

Responsibilities
  • Work with the New Product and Design Engineering teams from project concept and approval to down-the-line (DTL) to ensure a smooth and timely introduction of parts and products into production.
  • Process and implement Engineering Change Notices for products to ensure the design is producible as drawn, methods are defined via routing, and that all time standards, process plans, work plans, and tool orders are defined appropriately.
  • Coordinate material and tooling availability with appropriate stakeholders.
  • Develop and implement efficient and safe work methods, lean material process flows, and ensure equipment and tooling for products are efficient and cost effective.
  • Provide training and written instructions/standard work related to products to manufacturing personnel for critical processes to develop and maintain process capability.
  • Plan and implement shop layouts to improve material flow and increase plant capacity and coordinate placement of new equipment to optimize existing shop capacities and new production processes.
  • Establish time standards by use of approved Industrial engineering practices for accurate measurement of work performed and facilitate the appropriate approvals to implement into costing system.
  • Evaluate production processes to increase productivity and investigate new methods of enhancing the product.
Qualifications
  • Education: Bachelor's degree in Engineering required
  • Years of Experience: 3 or more years of experience required
  • Software Knowledge: Microsoft Office, Computer Aided Drafting (CAD), SAP
