Job summary

nVent seeks a Manufacturing Engineer to optimize welding and fabrication of stainless-steel tubing for liquid cooling solutions. The role is onsite in Anoka, MN, collaborating with operators and NPD to ensure cost-effective production.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or related field required.
  • Hands-on welding experience with stainless-steel tube/manifold fabrication preferred.
  • Experience with SolidWorks/AutoCAD/MS Office/ERP/PLM systems.

Responsibilities

  • Optimize manual, semi-automated, and automated production processes to improve layout, material flow, and line balance.
  • Provide hands-on guidance for orbital welding, fixture design, and sanitary tube fabrication.
  • Apply lean principles to drive continuous improvement, safety, quality, delivery, and cost reductions.
  • Collaborate with New Product Development (NPD) to ensure manufacturability and cost-effectiveness of new products.
  • Submit Capital Equipment requests and coordinate with suppliers for effective integration into production.
  • Apply PFMEA, Process Flow Diagram, Lean and Six Sigma methodologies.
  • Ensure compliance with regulatory, safety, and quality requirements in manufacturing.
  • Utilize welding processes like Orbital Welding, GMAW, GTAW, Laser welding, Stud welding.

Join our growing Data Solutions business as a Manufacturing Engineer and support sophisticated stainless steel orbital tube welding and fabrication processes for our liquid cooling solutions product line.

This role will work onsite, 5 days/week, in Anoka, MN.

WHAT YOU WILL EXPERIENCE IN THIS POSITION
  • Optimize manual, semi-automated, and fully automated processes by collaborating with operators, team leaders, and value stream managers to enhance production layouts, streamline material flow, and improve line balancing.
  • Provide hands-on guidance for orbital welding processes, fixture design, and sanitary tube fabrication, including welding fittings and ports for liquid cooling products.
  • Apply lean principles to drive continuous improvement and waste reduction, resulting in enhanced safety, product quality, delivery, and reduced cost.
  • Work with New Product Development (NPD) team to analyze drawings and ensure the new product can be manufactured efficiently and cost-effective.
  • Submit Capital Equipment requests for new equipment or technology and work with project team members and suppliers to ensure effective integration into production.
  • Apply engineering methods such as PFMEA, Process Flow Diagram, Lean and Six Sigma Methodology.
  • Deep understanding of regulatory, safety and quality requirements in a manufacturing environment.
  • Experience with welding processes - Orbital Welding, GMAW, GTAW, Laser welding, Stud welding.
YOU HAVE
  • Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Materials Science/Metallurgical Engineering, Welding Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering, or related field required.
  • Previous engineering experience in a manufacturing setting, ideally with hands-on welding experience, such as stainless-steel tube or manifold fabrication.
  • Experience with one or more of the following systems: SolidWorks, AutoCAD, MS Office, ERP, PLM.
  • Experience working with automated or robotic fabrication equipment is preferred.

Pay Transparency

nVent's pay scale is based on the expected range of base pay for this job and the employee's work location. Employee pay within this range will be based on a combination of factors including knowledge, skills, abilities, experience, education, and performance. Where federal, state, or local minimum wage requirements exist, employee pay will comply.

Compensation Range: $76,000.00 - $141,100.00 Depending on the position offered, employee may be eligible for other forms of compensation, such as annual incentives.
