Job summary

nVent is seeking a hands-on CNC operator to support program-controlled machines, perform tooling changes, and set up for batch runs. You will stay current with CNC operations training and troubleshoot issues to maintain quality and uptime.

A high school diploma or GED, or 1–3 months related experience, is required, with a focus on reliability and teamwork. This full-time role sits within a global electrical solutions company.

Responsibilities

  • Works with computer downloads for program controlled CNC machines.
  • Stays current on CNC operations training.
  • Performs tooling change out monitoring usage for scheduled sharpening or tooling replacement as needed to maximize machine performance and maintaining quality parts.
  • Performs daily, weekly, and periodic machine maintenance as directed per the preventative maintenance system.
  • Performs machine set up for self and/or others for batch parts run.
  • Effectively troubleshoots minor machine problems and coordinates service to minimize down time.
  • Provides backup to Fabricating Supervisor for day to day production operations.
  • Endeavors to create a work environment that is enjoyable, engenders pride in the product and focus on the customer, and provides room for individual responsibilities and ideas.
