Job summary

A Manufacturing Engineer is a core role at Creation Technologies, focused on executing moderately complex to complex engineering tasks required in the creation, configuration and optimization of industrial processes required to produce and/or test Circuit Card Assemblies (CCAs) and/or box assemblies. This intermediate-level engineering position is crucial for those continuing their career in electronics manufacturing services, providing an opportunity to apply theoretical knowledge in a practical setting while deepening several areas of subject matter expertise while adhering to industry standards and practices. This role executes engineering activities within the engineering team with the support of Engineering Management. It's a role that combines hands‑on experience with professional growth and a pathway for further career advancement in the field. Executes MFG engineering tasks and activities with the support of Manufacturing Engineering management.

Well versed in PLM and MES systems.

Ensures the translation of customer requirements to assembly and test processes by Managing Bill of Materials (BOM), docment control, and validates routing; drives New Product Introduction (NPI) and Engineering Change Order (ECO) processes. This icludes the impact on materials of customer specification.

Engages in detailed manufacturing process documentation, including work instructions, as received from customer, and prepped for release to production floor.

Create Assembly documents, Bill of Process and SMT/AOI Machine files (use of CAM350, Factory Logix, or other MES and CAD/CAM software).

Generate, and support the control and distribution of, manufacturing process documentation including Process Plans and Procurement specifications.

Perform Design for Manufacture analysis with cross functional teams and customers.

Supports and drives schedules for engineering projects, including coordinating tasks and resources for above schedule within the engineering team.

Participates in cross-functional teams to drives manufacturing process improvements to enhance production efficiency and product quality.

Reviews and updates manufacturing procedures to ensure they are current and effective.

Provides technical training and support to the manufacturing team, aiding in the resolution of engineering issues that affect production and prevent continuous production flow, as needed.

Monitors and drives key performance indicators (KPIs) and analyzes data to identify and resolve systemic process and performance issues.

Engages in the setup and process readiness of manufacturing processes, including equipment & tooling, while ensuring optimal performance and adherence to safety standards.

Demonstrates a good understanding of electronics principles and manufacturing services processes.

Executes standard engineering projects and tasks, including prototype projects, and performs technical work within the engineering team, ensuring compliance with quality standards and that products meet customer required specifications and standards. Deals with complex escalated issues as necessary.

Engages in the documentation of manufacturing processes and procedures, ensuring accurate records and adherence to protocols.

Maintains and/or troubleshoots the equipment, tools and tooling necessary for electronic manufacturing processes, minimizing downtime, and maintaining production efficiency. Works with other business functions as required.

Troubleshoots and repairs products, as required.

Works effectively within the engineering team, other functions, and 3rd party partners, communicating technical information clearly and contributing to operational goals.

Supports and drives continuous improvement / productivity improvement efforts on existing processes and in new process development.

Performs root cause corrective and preventive actions as required.

Provides guidance to interns, and/or technicians, and/or junior engineers as needed.

QUALIFICATIONS:

Education and Required Experience Bachelor's Degree (4 year) in Engineering (Mechanical, Electrical, Chemical, Industrial, Mechatronic, or other relevant discipline) or a related field with a focus on electronics and manufacturing processes or equivalent industry or military training experience.

Up to 7 years of engineering experience in electronics manufacturing preferred.
