Job summary

Peugeot Sport (Stellantis Motorsport) in Kokomo, IN is seeking a Manufacturing Electrical Engineer to join an engineering team developing and launching processes for safety, quality, delivery, and cost across NM, NNM, and adaptation programs for powertrain battery tray/frame, casting, components, engine, and transmission.

You will collaborate across sites in MI, IN, OH, ON, and MX, drive standardization, support SPW methodology, and help bring facilities projects from planning to installation.

Qualifications

• High school degree or GED and 3 years of engineering or related field experience.

• Strong oral, written, presentation and organizational skills.
• Ability to translate technical data into an executive summary for presentation.
• Ability to embrace cross-functional teams responsible for developing, specifying, building, and launching powertrain manufacturing processes.
• Knowledge of advanced problem-solving and data analysis to identify root causes.
• Knowledge of cost studies and strategic planning.
• Microsoft Office intermediate or advanced knowledge.

Responsibilities

• Perform assessments for process changes and related investment requirements for cost studies.
• Understand RFQs, sourcing, technical evaluations, design, manufacturing, and installation of air/mist/coolant collectors and filtration.
• Support NNM powertrain program requests and ensure timely, budget-conscious completion.
• Support NM program facilities aspects including site preparation and machine installation.
• Support flow activities on programs with tracking of scope, timing and cost.
• Participate in Stellantis Production Way (SPW) deployment and root-cause problem solving methods.
• Develop/improve process and equipment standards related to facilities infrastructure.
• Maintain relationships with plants in MI, IN, MX, ON, OH and ensure global CoC initiatives.
• Drive standardization across plants in all regions.

Job description

The primary role of the Manufacturing Electrical Engineer is to participate within an Engineering team to develop and launch processes that meet all objectives for safety, quality, delivery, and cost for both new model (NM), non-new model (NNM), and adaptation programs. This position supports all Manufacturing Engineering functions in North America powertrain battery tray/frame, casting, components, engine, and transmission programs.

Main Responsibilities Include

• Perform assessments for process changes and related investment requirements for cost studies
• Understand engineering scope definition, Requests for Quotes (RFQ’s), sourcing, technical evaluations, design, manufacturing, and installation of air/mist/coolant collectors and filtration
• Support and prioritize the Non-New Model (NNM) powertrain programs requests and ensure that approved programs are completed on time and within budget
• Support all New Model (NM) program’s facilities aspects including site preparation and machine installation
• Support flow activities on programs ensuring successful implementation and tracking of the Iron Triangle (Scope, Timing, and Cost)
• Participate in the implementation of Stellantis Production Way (SPW) methodology, supporting all activities including deployment of advanced SPW tools and guide systematic root cause problem solving methods to attack risks
• Development/improvement of process and equipment standards related to facilities infrastructure
• Manufacturing Plants located in Dundee, Michigan (MI), Trenton, Michigan (MI), Kokomo, Indiana (IN) and Saltillo, Mexico (MX); Transmission Plants in Kokomo and Tipton, Indiana (IN); Casting Plants in Kokomo, Indiana (IN) and Etobicoke, Ontario (ON), Toledo, Ohio (OH), while maintaining a relationship with the Global CoC initiatives
• Drive standardization across plants in all regions

Basic Qualifications

• High school degree or GED and 3 years of experience in engineering or a related technical field
• Ability to work and interact with all levels of the organization
• Strong oral, written, presentation and organizational skills
• Ability to translate technical data and analysis into an executive summary format for presentation in easily understandable formats
• Ability to embrace cross-functional teams responsible for developing, specifying, building, and launching powertrain manufacturing processes
• Knowledge of advanced problem-solving skills and ability to manage data analysis to identify root causes and attack them to closure
• Knowledge of cost studies and strategic planning
• Microsoft Office intermediate or advance knowledge

Preferred Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Engineering Technology, or technical equivalent
• Master’s degree in Engineering or equivalent
• Preferred 5 or more years manufacturing experience, Powertrain Manufacturing experience a plus
• Preferred 5 or more years’ experience in program management or multi-tasking environment
