Job summary

Socket.dev is seeking a Manufacturing EHS Specialist to ensure safe operations in a manufacturing environment in Richmond, VA. The role involves hands-on safety on the production floor, hazard identification, training support, and ensuring compliance with safety requirements.

The successful candidate will collaborate with employees and supervisors to implement safe practices, conduct inspections, and document findings while contributing to a proactive safety culture on site.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in a related field or equivalent education/experience.
• 2+ years of safety/EHS or related experience.
• Knowledge of workplace safety practices and incident investigation.
• Strong communication and organizational skills.
• Ability to work with employees and leaders at all levels.
• ASP, CSP or similar certifications preferred.

Responsibilities

• Monitor areas for potential safety hazards and conduct inspections.
• Work with staff to correct unsafe conditions and reinforce safe practices.
• Document findings and monitor corrective actions to completion.
• Assist with onboarding and safety orientations for new hires.
• Support toolbox talks, safety meetings and training sessions.
• Provide safety coaching to employees and supervisors.
• Assist with injury, incident and near-miss reporting and investigations.
• Contribute to root-cause analysis and action plans.
• Maintain records for safety, training, inspections and compliance.
• Assist with regulatory and internal safety documentation.
• Contribute to ongoing improvements in safety programs and processes.
