Job summary

TrinityRail in Vidor, TX is seeking an Environmental, Health & Safety Manager to lead the EHS function and align with Trinity’s environmental and safety policy. You will develop safety and environmental programs, manage a team, provide training, maintain records, conduct investigations, and ensure compliance with FRA and DOT regulations.

Collaborate across production, manage workers’ compensation matters, and produce required reports.

Qualifications

• Bachelor Degree in EHS or similar field (those pursuing a degree will be considered).
• 5+ years of safety experience in a manufacturing facility.
• 3+ years of experience managing employees.
• Knowledge of State and Federal regulations relative to safety, health, environment and workers' compensation.
• Knowledge of FRA and DOT regulations.

Responsibilities

• Develop safety and environmental programs for compliance to company and government regulations.
• Manage a team of individuals responsible for developing, implementing, and monitoring safety and environmental programs, processes and policies.
• Administer and monitor Corporate and Business Unit safety/environmental programs.
• Maintain records of training, qualifications, certifications, etc.
• Provide training to enable effective operation of the established safety systems.
• Initiate, document and monitor corrective actions to adhere to safety programs.
• Gather information and generate required and/or requested reports.
• Manage the safety committee to accommodate production schedules and requirements.
• Work with employees to resolve safety issues.
• Keep the facility management team informed of safety and environmental concerns.
• Participate in the investigation of accidents and injuries.
• Manage local workers’ compensation issues.

Education

Bachelor Degree in EHS or similar field

Certified Safety Professional (CSP) certification
