Job summary

Essential Personnel, Inc. is seeking an experienced Environment, Health & Safety Leader to own the EHS strategy at our manufacturing facility.

You will develop, implement, and coordinate comprehensive environmental health and safety programs, serving as the on-site safety expert and partnering with employees and leadership to drive compliance and continuous improvement. Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Occupational Safety, Industrial Hygiene, Environmental Science, Engineering, or a related field, or equivalent combination of education and experience.
• 5+ years of safety management experience in a manufacturing or industrial environment.
• Strong knowledge of OSHA regulations and workplace safety practices.
• Experience developing and implementing safety programs and employee training.
• Strong investigation, problem-solving, and root cause analysis skills.
• Excellent communication and leadership abilities.
• Ability to work effectively with employees at all levels of an organization.
• Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities and maintain accurate documentation.
• Ability to work independently while collaborating effectively with management, HR, and operations teams.

Responsibilities

• Develop, implement, and enforce safety policies and procedures in compliance with local, state, and federal regulations, including OSHA and EPA requirements.
• Lead and manage critical safety programs, including: Lockout/Tagout (LOTO), Confined Space Entry, Hazard Communication, Personal Protective Equipment (PPE), Machine Guarding.
• Conduct regular safety inspections, audits, risk assessments, and Job Hazard Analyses (JHAs).
• Investigate accidents, incidents, and near misses, including conducting root cause analysis and implementing corrective actions.
• Maintain accurate records of safety inspections, incidents, training, and other documentation required by regulatory agencies.
• Coordinate and deliver safety training for new hires, ongoing employee development, contractors, and other personnel.
• Monitor and report safety performance metrics, including TRIR, DART, and near-miss trends, to senior leadership.
• Promote a strong safety culture through visible leadership, employee engagement, communication, and accountability across all shifts and departments.
• Prepare for and manage emergency response situations and coordinate with external agencies as necessary.
• Ensure the proper use, inspection, and maintenance of safety equipment and PPE.
• Manage workers' compensation cases and coordinate with HR and insurance providers as necessary.
• Serve as the primary point of contact for state, federal, and local regulatory agencies regarding safety and environmental matters.
