Job summary

EZG Manufacturing is seeking a Manufacturing Draftsman to develop mechanical drawings and technical documentation for fabrication processes such as laser cutting, bending, machining and welding. CAD experience is essential.

Ideal candidates have 5+ years in engineering or fabrication, ability to interpret customer designs, and strong math and communication skills. College degree is preferred but not required, with a proactive, adaptable attitude.

Responsibilities

Manufacturing Draftsman

EZG Manufacturing is seeking aManufacturing Draftsman to develop mechanical drawings and technical documentation for the manufacturing of parts and equipment by means of laser cutting, bending, machining, and welding. This is an excellent opportunity for someone with strong CAD experience and a background in fabrication who enjoys turning concepts into production-ready designs.

What You’ll Do:

• Analyze customer drawings for the creation of shop production documentation.
• Determine bills of material needed for jobs and order prior to job release.
• Create job packets for the production department that contain mechanical drawings, materials, quality documentation, workflow routing, and time tracking documentation.
• Provide support during the building and fabrication process, ensuring that the machine is built properly and according to customer specifications.
• Consult with customers, vendors, and internal personnel to discuss changes to projects and design discrepancies.
• Complete engineer change requests based on feedback from customers or the production department.
• Create new mechanical designs based on customer concepts or field measurements.

What We’re Looking For:

• Previous Engineering or Fabrication Experience: 5+ years.
• College Degree preferred but not required.
• Cad experience required.
• Positive, self-motivated attitude and the ability to operate under own initiative.
• Flexible approach to work and the ability to quickly adapt to change.
• Blueprint/spec reading, must be able to interpret customer designs and understand customer requirements.
• Mechanical Aptitude.
• Written and Verbal Communication.
• Strong Computer and Mathematical skills.
