Job summary

Vaco by Highspring seeks a hands-on Division Controller to lead accounting and finance for a multi-site manufacturing division south of Atlanta. You will oversee plant controllers, strengthen the close, and partner across the business on spending decisions and process improvements.

The role requires progressive accounting leadership, deep GAAP knowledge, and experience with internal controls and external auditors. CPA/CMA preferred; strong Excel and analytic skills are essential.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
• Progressive accounting leadership experience in multi-site manufacturing environment.
• Strong knowledge of U.S. GAAP, financial close, balance-sheet accounting, inventory and cost accounting, SOX, and internal controls.
• Advanced Excel, analytical, and financial-reporting skills, with the ability to translate complex information into business insights.
• Strong leadership, judgment, and communication skills, including experience working directly with external auditors.

Responsibilities

• Own the monthly, quarterly, and annual close, including journal entries, reconciliations, accruals, intercompany activity, capital accounting, AR, and AP.
• Maintain balance-sheet integrity across all entities and plants, ensuring timely reconciliations and resolution of aged or unusual items.
• Maintain a strong SOX and internal-control environment, including remediation and segregation of duties.
• Partner with operations, purchasing, engineering, IT, and finance on spending decisions, vendor activity, analysis, and process improvement.
