Job summary

Katz, Sapper & Miller is seeking an Audit Manager in Indianapolis to lead multiple engagement teams, review workpapers and financial statements, and mentor staff. You’ll ensure audit quality, client communication, and adherence to the firm’s methodology while addressing issues as they arise.

The role requires CPA/CA, 5+ years in public accounting, GAAP/GAAS knowledge, and experience with manufacturing sector audits. Willingness to travel and develop others are essential.

Qualifications

• BS/BA/BBA degree in accounting or equivalent.
• CPA or CA certification.
• Proficient in GAAP reporting standards.
• Experience in the manufacturing sector.
• Knowledge of cost accounting.
• 5+ years of experience in a public accounting environment.
• Understanding of audit services with GAAP, GAAS and FASB regulations.
• Proven track record of building profitable client relationships.
• Minimum of 4 years of team lead or in-charge experience overseeing staff on multiple engagements.

Responsibilities

• Provide timely, high quality client service meeting expectations.
• Assess risk and design audit procedures for engagement teams.
• Understand and utilize the firm’s audit methodology.
• Manage multiple engagement teams and prepare end-of-engagement evaluations.
• Coach staff and monitor performance, reporting on progress.
• Identify accounting matters early and coordinate with firm specialists.
• Supervise seniors and facilitate field work, monitoring productivity and schedules.
• Maintain contact with clients to assess year-round developments and impacts.
• Develop others through training and participation in firm initiatives.
• Keep up with GAAP developments and firm standards; travel as needed.
