Applied Optoelectronics, Inc. (AOI) in Sugar Land, TX, is seeking a Manufacturing Data Engineer to connect fab process data across equipment, metrology, yield, and reliability.

You will develop data infrastructure, automate processing with Python and JMP, and support engineering and production teams with reliable analytics and dashboards. This role requires collaborating with multiple teams and maintaining data quality.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree or higher in a technical field related to data engineering.
• 3+ years in data engineering or manufacturing analytics.
• Strong Python programming for data processing and automation.
• Experience with JMP for statistics and visualization.
• SQL and relational database design experience.
• Knowledge of SPC and DOE concepts.
• Ability to clean and manage large manufacturing datasets.
• Familiarity with LabVIEW-based dashboards.
• Effective communication with cross-functional teams.

Responsibilities

• Develop Python scripts for data collection, cleaning, analysis, visualization, and reporting.
• Build and maintain databases integrating fab process, metrology, yield, and reliability data.
• Establish data traceability across product, lot, wafer, and timestamp.
• Create automated JMP workflows, reports, and visualization tools for analysis.
• Develop dashboards, wafer maps, and trend charts for engineering and production teams.
• Monitor and maintain the fab process dashboard.
• Troubleshoot data connections and data integrity with IT and Equipment Engineering.
• Develop automated alerts for process shifts and equipment anomalies.
• Provide datasets and workflows supporting SPC, DOE, and reliability analyses.
• Translate analytical requirements into scalable data solutions with yield engineers.
