Job summary

Employment & Training Centers, Inc. in Houston, TX is seeking an Accountant to manage daily accounting, inventory, cost tracking, and support ERP implementation and optimization.

This role works closely with warehouse and production teams to ensure accurate financial and inventory data. Responsibilities include AP/AR, journal entries, reconciliations, payroll processing, product cost analysis, month-end close, and tax compliance.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field.
• 3+ years of accounting experience, preferably in manufacturing.
• Inventory accounting and warehouse inventory count experience.

Responsibilities

• Manage daily accounting activities, including accounts payable, accounts receivable, journal entries, account reconciliations, and general ledger maintenance.
• Handle vendor invoices, payments, customer invoicing, and accounts receivable management.
• Manage biweekly payroll processing, payroll related accounting, and payroll tax matters.
• Maintain and reconcile raw materials, work in process, and finished goods inventory.
• Participate in regular physical inventory counts and cycle counts.
• Perform product cost accounting and analysis, including materials, labor, manufacturing overhead, production variances, and scrap.
• Complete month end closing, financial reporting, and account reconciliations.
• Handle sales tax, payroll tax, and other tax compliance matters, and coordinate with external accountants and tax advisors when needed.
• Assist with improving financial and inventory management processes.
• Work closely with warehouse, production, and other departments to ensure accurate and complete financial and operational data.
