Job summary

Movement Search & Delivery is seeking a Cost Accountant to join our Warren, MI manufacturing finance team. You will analyze standard costs, monitor inventory, and support month-end close to drive profitability through precise cost control.

Applicants should have a Bachelor's in Accounting/Finance, 3+ years cost accounting in manufacturing, strong Excel skills, and ERP experience. Collaboration with operations is essential for cost control and reporting.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field.
• 3+ years of cost accounting experience within a manufacturing environment.
• Strong understanding of standard costing, inventory accounting, and variance analysis.
• Experience with ERP systems (Epicor, Plex, SAP, Oracle, or similar preferred).
• Proficient in Microsoft Excel, including Pivot Tables and VLOOKUPs/XLOOKUPs.
• Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills.
• Ability to thrive in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.

Responsibilities

• Analyze and maintain standard costs for raw materials, labor, and overhead.
• Prepare and review monthly cost accounting reports and variance analyses.
• Monitor inventory transactions and reconcile inventory accounts.
• Support month-end and year-end close processes.
• Evaluate manufacturing performance and identify cost-saving opportunities.
• Assist with budgeting, forecasting, and financial planning activities.
• Work closely with operations, production, and purchasing teams to improve cost controls.
• Maintain fixed asset records and depreciation schedules.
• Ensure compliance with company policies and accounting standards.
• Participate in ERP system enhancements and process improvement initiatives.
