Job summary

Movement Search and Delivery is partnering with a leading global manufacturing organization in Muskegon, MI to identify a Senior Financial Analyst, Manufacturing Cost Accounting. This on-site role focuses on cost accounting, standard costing, variances, and P&L performance within plant finance.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field.
• 3+ years in manufacturing finance, cost accounting, or operations finance.
• Strong experience with standard costing and manufacturing variance analysis.
• Experience analyzing labor, material, scrap, inventory, and overhead variances.
• Advanced Excel skills, including pivot tables and lookups.
• Demonstrated experience partnering with manufacturing or operations leadership.
• ERP experience; exposure to SyteLine/Infor or similar platforms preferred.
• CPA, CMA, or MBA preferred.

Responsibilities

• Own standard cost accounting processes and support annual standard cost roll activities.
• Analyze manufacturing variances, including labor, material, overhead, and scrap/testing.
• Prepare and explain daily, weekly, and monthly P&L variance reporting.
• Partner with Operations and Engineering to identify yield, throughput, OEE improvements.
• Analyze inventory valuation, inventory reserves, and cost performance.
• Develop financial models to evaluate operational improvement initiatives.
• Support monthly forecasting, annual budgeting, and strategic planning.
• Prepare management reporting and present insights to plant and finance leadership.
• Investigate trends affecting plant performance and SOX/compliance controls.
• Prepare journal entries and account reconciliations for inventory/cost accounting.
