Job summary

Dover Food Retail in Richmond, VA is seeking a Cost Accountant to support our manufacturing accounting functions, focusing on cost accounting, fixed assets, and general ledger activities. You will assist month-end close, reconciliations, and inventory accounting.

The role requires 2+ years in GL accounting or public accounting, US GAAP knowledge, and proficiency with Excel and ERP systems. CPA or CPA-candidate is preferred; extended hours during closings may apply.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in accounting or finance is required.
• At least 2 years of general ledger accounting or public accounting audit experience.
• Solid understanding of US GAAP and ability to analyze complex financial data.
• CPA or CPA candidate is preferred; manufacturing experience a plus.

Responsibilities

• Assist in maintaining the company’s standard costing system.
• Track and report on capital expenditures.
• Assist in analysis and validation of financial results.
• Support AR and AP accounting functions as needed.
• Investigate and resolve accounting issues when they arise.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams.
• Prepare monthly reconciliations to ensure accuracy in reporting.
• Produce ad hoc reports as assigned.
