Job summary

Hailiang Copper Texas Inc. is seeking a Manufacturing Cost Accountant to support costing for raw materials, direct labor, and manufacturing overhead in Sealy, Texas.

The role requires fluency in English and Mandarin and collaboration with Finance, Production, and Engineering teams. You will maintain standard costs, analyze variances, and support inventory valuation and cost reporting for decision-making and profitability improvements.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, Business, or related field.
• Bilingual fluency in English and Chinese (Mandarin) required.
• Ability to discuss accounting, cost, inventory, production, and financial matters with both English- and Chinese-speaking employees and management.
• Minimum 3 years of accounting experience, preferably cost accounting in manufacturing.
• Strong understanding of manufacturing cost concepts: standard costing, inventory, WIP, COGS, materials, labor, overhead, variance analysis.
• Proficient Excel skills and experience with ERP or manufacturing accounting system.

Responsibilities

• Develop, maintain, and analyze manufacturing costs for raw materials, direct labor, and overhead.
• Maintain accurate standard costs for manufactured products.
• Compare standard costs to actual manufacturing costs and investigate variances.
• Analyze material usage, purchase price, labor, overhead, scrap, yield, and other variances.
• Prepare cost and variance reports for Finance and operations management.
• Assist with inventory valuation and cycle counts; support physical inventories.
• Review BOMs, routings, material consumption, and overhead allocations for costing accuracy.
• Support costing for new products and changes to existing products.
