Job summary

Whirlpool Corporation in Columbus, OH invites students to join its Manufacturing Leadership Development Program (MLDP) – Controls Engineering Track. This 12-week internship focuses on lean manufacturing, automation, quality, and process engineering, with hands-on projects across plant sites in Findlay and Clyde, Ohio.

Successful candidates are pursuing a bachelor’s degree in Electrical/Controls/Automation Engineering or related field, with a 2.8+ GPA and eligible to work in the US.

Qualifications

• Pursuing a bachelor’s degree in Electrical/Controls/Automation Engineering or related field.
• Minimum GPA 2.8; graduation by May 2029.
• Strong interest in automation, lean manufacturing and systems thinking.

Responsibilities

• Lead automation projects related to process control, quality control, safety systems and vision systems.
• Design, develop, review and coordinate test programs for components, small systems or processes.
• Manage equipment/resource relocation projects and coordinate related activities.
• Lead change management with impacted team members.
• Focus on cost-savings initiatives across a plant including standardized work and throughput improvements.
