Job summary

Whirlpool Corporation in Findlay, OH is offering a 12-week Manufacturing Leadership Development Program internship in Controls Engineering. You will lead automation projects and contribute to quality, safety and vision systems while gaining hands-on experience across lean manufacturing, process engineering, and cost-savings initiatives.

Upon successful completion, opportunities may arise in the Full Time Manufacturing Leadership Development Program—Controls Engineering Track.

Qualifications

• Pursuing bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Controls Engineering, Automation Engineering, Robotics Engineering, Mechatronics Engineering, Electrical Engineering Technology or related field.
• Pursuing a bachelor’s degree with plans to graduate before or by May 2029.
• Current cumulative GPA of 2.8 or higher.
• Must have indefinite US work authorization; visa sponsorship not available.

Responsibilities

• Lead automation projects related to process control, quality control, safety systems and vision systems.
• Design, develop, review and coordinate test programs for components, small systems, processes or materials with cost and quality considerations.
• Manage equipment/resource relocation projects.
• Lead change management with impacted team members.
• Focus on cost-savings initiatives across a plant, including standardized work audits and improving first pass yield and throughput.
• Learn and apply Lean Manufacturing tools to projects.
