Job summary

Certis Biologicals in Butte, MT is seeking a Controller / Senior Accountant to lead the organization’s accounting and financial operations. You will oversee the general ledger, financial reporting, and month-end close while supporting budgeting, cost analysis, and internal controls.

The role also covers product cost accounting, inventory management, and collaboration with management to drive financial performance and process improvements in a manufacturing environment.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in accounting, Finance, or related field.
• Five (5) or more years of progressive accounting experience.
• Strong understanding of GAAP and financial reporting.
• Experience with accounts payable, accounts receivable, financial statement preparation, budgeting, and month-end closing.
• Proficiency with accounting and ERP software.
• Advanced Microsoft Excel skills.
• Strong analytical, organizational, and communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Lead and manage monthly, quarterly, and annual financial close processes.
• Prepare and review journal entries, account reconciliations, and financial statements.
• Perform balance sheet and income statement reconciliations and financial analysis.
• Prepare monthly management reports and variance analyses.
• Ensure compliance with GAAP and company policies.
• Support external and internal audits.
• Manage accounts payable process for location; enter and maintain purchase orders; review invoices; reconcile statements; maintain vendor records; monitor expenditures.
• Manage accounts receivable process for location; transact customer sales orders; process and fulfill sales orders; generate customer invoices (international only) and statements; maintain customer records.
• Follow accounting policies, procedures, and internal controls; ensure compliance with financial, regulatory, tax, and reporting requirements; oversee fixed asset accounting and depreciation; identify and implement process improvements.
