Job summary

Jobot is seeking a Controller for a hands-on leadership role in its Helena, MT manufacturing operation. You will manage the accounting and finance functions, ensuring GAAP compliance, accurate reporting, and strong internal controls, while partnering with operations and senior leadership.

Ideal candidates bring 7+ years of progressive accounting experience, manufacturing exposure, and CPA or equivalent credentials.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field.
• 7+ years of progressive accounting/finance experience; controller or senior leadership preferred.
• Manufacturing/operationally complex industry experience strongly preferred.
• Strong understanding of GAAP, financial reporting, budgeting, and internal controls; ERP experience; Excel proficiency; CPA a plus.

Responsibilities

• Lead day-to-day accounting and finance functions, including GL, AP, AR, payroll, and close.
• Oversee timely financial statements and management reporting.
• Manage budgeting, forecasting, and financial planning processes.
• Develop and maintain internal controls and accounting policies.

Job Details

Key Responsibilities

• Lead the day-to-day accounting and finance functions, including general ledger, accounts payable, accounts receivable, payroll, and month-end close.
• Oversee the preparation of accurate and timely financial statements and management reporting.
• Manage the annual budgeting, forecasting, and financial planning processes.
• Develop and maintain strong internal controls and accounting policies.
• Partner with operations and leadership to analyze financial performance, costs, margins, and business trends.
• Oversee cash flow management, working capital, and treasury activities.
• Ensure compliance with US GAAP, tax requirements, and other applicable regulations.
• Coordinate with external auditors, tax advisors, banking partners, and other outside stakeholders.
• Identify opportunities to improve accounting processes, reporting, systems, and overall financial efficiency.
• Lead, mentor, and develop the accounting team.
• Provide financial analysis and insights to senior leadership to support strategic decision-making.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
• 7+ years of progressive accounting and finance experience.
• Prior experience in a Controller or senior accounting leadership role preferred.
• Manufacturing, distribution, industrial, or other operationally complex industry experience strongly preferred.
• Strong understanding of GAAP, financial reporting, budgeting, and internal controls.
• Experience managing and developing an accounting team.
• Strong analytical, organizational, and communication skills.
• ERP experience and strong proficiency with Excel.
• CPA or other relevant professional certification is a plus.
