Job summary

Schunk Carbon Technology, based in Menomonee Falls, WI, seeks an experienced Controller to lead SCT-US accounting, own the close process, strengthen controls, and develop the accounting team. You will partner with the Director of Finance & Administration and operations leaders to ensure accurate, timely numbers and actionable insights.

Responsibilities include leading the accounting function, managing cost accounting, and driving process improvements using SAP and Excel.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in accounting or related field.
• 8+ years progressive accounting experience including manufacturing.
• Strong knowledge of general accounting, financial reporting, month-end close, internal controls, and cost accounting.
• Hands-on experience with standard cost systems, cost standards, inventory accounting, variance analysis, and costing for proposals.
• Senior-level experience coordinating or supporting financial audits.
• Proficient with ERP systems and Microsoft tools; strong Excel skills.

Responsibilities

• Lead and develop the accounting team covering AP, AR, GL, banking, credit/collections, and cost accounting.
• Own monthly, quarterly, and annual close, including journal entries, reconciliations, accruals, and reporting to local management and Group Controlling.
• Maintain GL integrity and ensure accurate, complete financial transactions.
• Oversee cost accounting, standard costs, inventory accounting, variance analysis, and proposal costing with operations team.
• Coordinate annual and periodic budgets; analyze variances against plan.
• Maintain controls, coordinate audits, and support tax, statutory, and legal reporting.
• Use SAP, Excel, and other tools to improve data quality, standardize workflows, and strengthen reporting.
• Lead cross-functional finance initiatives and process improvements.
