Hose Master, a family-owned manufacturer in the U.S., seeks an Assistant Controller to lead cost accounting, inventory valuation, and manufacturing reporting. The role partners with Operations, Supply Chain, and Plant Leadership to ensure accurate product costing and timely financial insights.

Ideal candidates will bring strong cost accounting expertise, experience in a manufacturing environment, and a track record of improving close processes and internal controls.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field.
• Four to six years of progressive accounting and finance experience in manufacturing.
• Expertise in cost accounting, standard costing, inventory accounting, and variance analysis.
• Experience with monthly close, financial reporting, reconciliations, and internal controls.
• Advanced Excel skills and experience with manufacturing ERP systems.

Responsibilities

• Own and maintain standard costing systems and policies.
• Partner with Operations to set material, labor, and overhead standards.
• Lead monthly cost accounting close and variance reporting.
• Analyze purchase price, usage, labor efficiency, overhead absorption, and yield variances.
• Monitor inventory valuation and ensure GAAP compliance.
• Support cost roll processes and periodic updates.
• Analyze profitability by product, customer, and manufacturing activity.
