Alexander Chemical Corporation in La Porte, IN is seeking an Assistant Controller to support the Controller in accounting operations, financial reporting, budgeting, and inventory management, with a heavy focus on cost accounting and manufacturing finance.

Responsibilities include month-end closes, journal entries, fixed assets in Sage, Concur expense reporting, audits, internal controls, and leading a small team to ensure accuracy and compliance.

Formación

• Bachelor’s degree in accounting required.
• 8–10 years of accounting experience in manufacturing.
• 3–5 years of management experience preferred.
• Advanced Excel and ERP experience required.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.

Responsabilidades

• Execute month-end, quarter-end, and year-end closes, including GL reconciliations, COGS breakouts, overhead allocations, and reporting.
• Maintain accounting records, perform journal entries, manage fixed assets in Sage, and oversee expense reporting (Concur) and corporate card program.
• Oversee inventory processes, cycle counts, physical inventories, and variance analysis.
• Analyze costs across manufacturing, purchasing, and production; support audits and internal controls.
• Assist with budgeting, forecasting, treasury functions, and cross-functional financial updates.
• Lead and mentor accounting, purchasing, accounts payable or inventory staff as assigned.
