Qualifications

• Job cost / cost accounting / manufacturing industry accounting experience
• Advanced degree in Accounting
• Minimum of five (5) years of combined accounting and finance experience
• Proven working experience as a Financial Controller

Responsibilities

• Manage all accounting operations, including billing, accounts receivable, accounts payable, general ledger and consolidation, cost accounting, inventory accounting, and revenue recognition
• Job cost / cost accounting / manufacturing industry accounting experience strongly preferred
• Coordinate and direct the preparation of the annual budget and financial forecasts and analyze and report variances
• Prepare and publish timely and accurate monthly financial statements
• Lead the month-end and year-end close processes and support Group Finance with consolidated reporting
• Coordinate the preparation of regulatory reporting
• Research technical accounting issues to ensure compliance with applicable accounting principles and standards
• Ensure quality control over financial transactions and financial reporting
• Manage and comply with local, state, and federal government reporting requirements and tax filings
• Develop and document business processes and accounting policies to maintain and strengthen internal controls
• Oversee cash management and risk management for the business unit
• Support external audits and serve as a point of contact for auditors, lenders, and advisors as directed
• Supervise, train, and develop accounting staff at the assigned business unit
• Perform additional controller duties as assigned
• Controller is also responsible for basic HR functions in coordination with Group Human Resources, including timekeeping and payroll questions
• Responding to PTO balance and basic policy questions
• Distributing HR communications to employees
