Job summary

Smurfit Westrock in Lansing, MI is seeking a Process Improvement Manager to lead continuous improvement efforts on site. The role focuses on elevating plant performance, acting as a change agent, and driving world-class manufacturing practices.

You will participate in the site leadership team and guide CI activities aligned to safety, quality, cost, service, and people goals. The position requires Lean Six Sigma experience, strong coaching abilities, and the capacity to influence across levels.

Qualifications

• B.S or A.S in a technical field; preferred but not required.
• Manufacturing experience required; paper/packaging experience a plus.
• Lean Six Sigma Green Belt preferred; must complete Yellow Belt and Green Belt training within 6 and 18 months respectively.
• Experience leading team-based process improvement projects for manufacturing.
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Identify and prioritize CI activities aligned to Safety, Quality, Cost, Service, and People.
• Lead and mentor CI project leaders and teams to deliver high-impact results.
• Track financial progress and savings from CI initiatives.
• Coordinate with site leadership to allocate resources for CI projects.
• Implement Enterprise initiatives including Daily Management System and Problem-Solving Practices.
• Report progress and outcomes of CI projects to stakeholders.
