Smurfit Westrock Company in Lanett, AL is seeking a Process Engineer to join the Operational Excellence team. You will lead process-improvement projects across the manufacturing site and collaborate with suppliers, employees and customers to deliver tangible gains in safety, quality, cost, and productivity.

You will develop and lead project teams, troubleshoot processes, report on metrics, create new procedures and training, and support capital projects.

Qualifications

• Bachelor degree in engineering or related field.
• Ability to gather, organize, analyze, and interpret data.
• Lean Six Sigma certification within 2 years.
• Lead broad and complex project teams and initiatives.
• Change agent with urgency.
• Organize multiple projects and action items simultaneously.
• Work independently with minimal supervision.
• Strong written and oral communication skills.
• Proficient in Excel/Word/PowerPoint; familiarity with WestRock systems.
• Willingness to work nights/weekends as needed.

Responsibilities

• Develop and lead process improvement project teams.
• Provide technical troubleshooting to solve process and product problems.
• Perform periodic reporting and deliver presentations of key project updates and results.
• Create new process procedures and deliver related training as needed.
• Serve as a facility-wide technical resource for departments.
• Assist in capital project justifications and installs as applicable.
• Achieve measurable improvements in safety, quality, productivity, and cost.
