Job summary

Clayton Services in Houston is seeking a Chief Financial Officer to lead the financial strategy, FP&A, and accounting operations for a growing manufacturing-focused company. This executive will partner with operations and the leadership team to improve profitability and drive strategic initiatives.

The ideal candidate has extensive CFO or senior financial leadership experience in manufacturing, a strong track record of building teams, and hands-on leadership with ERP and automation initiatives.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or Business.
• Previous CFO or senior financial leadership experience in manufacturing.
• Experience leading the financial function of a growing organization.
• MBA or CPA preferred but not required.
• Demonstrated tenure with previous employers.

Responsibilities

• Lead the company's overall financial strategy and provide guidance to ownership and executive leadership.
• Oversee accounting, financial reporting, budgeting, forecasting, cash flow management, and FP&A.
• Develop financial models, KPIs, dashboards, and reporting for leadership visibility.
• Partner with operations, sales, purchasing, logistics, and other departments to improve profitability and decision-making.
• Evaluate margins, costs, pricing, labor, inventory, and operational performance to identify opportunities.
• Provide financial leadership supporting growth, including organic expansion and potential M&A.
• Evaluate acquisition opportunities, due diligence, and post-acquisition integration.
• Oversee banking relationships, debt management, audits, tax matters, and external financial relationships.
• Lead and develop the accounting and finance team; mentor and build the department.
• Assess processes, controls, ERP, and reporting practices; implement improvements.
• Strengthen cost accounting, inventory reporting, margin analysis, and financial disciplines in manufacturing.
• Provide thoughtful financial analysis and challenge assumptions with alternative strategies.
• Participate in long-term strategic planning, capital allocation, and major business initiatives.
