Job description

Shape high‑tech manufacturing with Plansee in Franklin, USAOur people in 50 countries drive breakthroughs in high-performance metals. In Franklin, we turn semi-finished tungsten and molybdenum into precision components with decades of engineering excellence behind every part.A day in this roleYou start by opening SAP R/3 and FastPro to review the master schedule. Capacity, materials, and manpower across the planning horizon are checked, and you adjust plans to meet customer delivery dates while maximizing utilization. New sales orders arrive—you analyze and release them against capacity and material availability, create production orders, and immediately communicate critical dates. Sales gets timely confirmations aligned with our marathon goals.Throughout the morning you maintain key material master data—costing lot sizes, production lot sizes, and safety stock levels (with approvals)—and you mark and release cost estimates. You sit down with the Production Scheduler to align on priority sequences, making sure the shop is executing to plan. When exception messages and deltas pop up, you investigate root causes, initiate changes, and keep affected teams informed about substitutions, schedule shifts, and completion dates. In the afternoon, you field status questions from Sales as the point of contact, collaborate with Production Management to resolve bottlenecks, and deep-dive into any critical material shortages—reporting causes and driving corrective actions. Every step adheres to ISO/AS9100 and the controls required for ITAR/EAR work. What you’ll doPlan production schedules to meet customer delivery requirements and ensure high utilization of available capacity.Maintain/set material master data (costing lot size, production lot sizes, safety stock levels with approval); mark and release cost estimates.Analyze, plan, and confirm sales order releases with respect to capacity planning and material requirements via SAP and FastPro.Review and plan new sales orders; create production orders; communicate critical dates; provide timely confirmations to Sales per our marathon goals.Validate the master schedule to ensure materials, manpower, and resources cover the plan horizon.Establish production order priorities and partner with the Production Scheduler to execute to plan.Monitor exception messages and deltas; drive changes to resolve production issues.Serve as Sales’ point of contact for order status and communicate schedule changes to affected departments.Collaborate with the Production Scheduler and Production Management to remove roadblocks.Investigate and report causes of critical material shortages; initiate corrective actions.Keep teams informed on completion dates, material changes/substitutions, and schedule modifications.Interface professionally with departments, supervisors, and managers.Ensure ISO/AS9100 compliance across purchasing, planning, and schedule execution, especially for ITAR/EAR work. What you bringAssociate’s degree or other two-year technical degree in a related field and three (3) years of related experience; a combination of education and experience considered in lieu of a degree.
