Job summary

Paycom seeks an Engineering Technician at our Youngstown, OH manufacturing headquarters to support roll forming operations, troubleshoot equipment, and collaborate with Maintenance, Production Supervision, and Process Engineering.

The role emphasizes hands-on troubleshooting of PLCs, hydraulics, pneumatics, electrical systems, and mechanical components, with involvement in automation projects and process documentation on the shop floor.

Qualifications

Associate degree preferred in Engineering Technology, Industrial Technology, Electrical Technology, Mechatronics, or related field.
3+ years of manufacturing, maintenance, engineering technician, or related industrial experience preferred.
Experience in roll forming, metal fabrication, stamping, or similar manufacturing environments strongly preferred.
Experience supporting automated production equipment and industrial controls.

Responsibilities

Troubleshoot and resolve production equipment issues involving PLC controls, hydraulics, pneumatics, electrical systems, and mechanical components.
Support maintenance personnel in diagnosing and correcting complex equipment failures.
Assist production teams in minimizing downtime and improving overall equipment effectiveness (OEE).
Analyze recurring equipment and process issues and recommend corrective actions.
Support root cause investigations and implementation of permanent corrective measures.
Work with Process Engineering Management to develop, improve, and standardize manufacturing processes.
Assist in establishing process parameters and operating standards for roll forming and value-added operations.
Participate in continuous improvement initiatives focused on safety, quality, productivity, and cost reduction.
