Job summary

Ford Motor Company seeks a Controls Engineer to lead problem solving, set up automation, and improve tooling and conveyor performance. You will work with PLC, CNC, VFDs, servos, Profinet, and robot systems, while applying vision control tech and AutoCAD for schematics.

The role requires a relevant engineering degree and 2+ years of experience, with a focus on safety and continuous improvement. Growth opportunities span multiple manufacturing teams within Ford.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Electrical or Mechanical Engineering (or foreign equivalency).
  • 2+ years of Controls Engineering experience (internships ok).
  • Familiar with PLC/CNC systems (Siemens/Allen-Bradley), VFDs, Servo, Profinet, ABB and FANUC robots.

Responsibilities

  • Coordinate resources to identify root causes and validation methods.
  • Set up and maintain industrial bar code printers.
  • Design and implement vision systems; evaluate equipment for quality and delivery.
  • Review cycle times with plant monitoring software and follow up on installations.
  • Reprogram equipment for engineering changes and improvements.
  • Read and modify electrical prints and schematics; use AutoCAD.
  • Train manufacturing personnel and plant electricians; ensure safety reviews.
