Job summary

Sheridan is hiring a Manufacturing Associate – Finishing/Bindery for daytime shift 7a–7p. We’ll train you to operate high-speed bindery equipment and handle manual tasks on a fast-paced production floor.

You’ll join a collaborative team, learn quality standards, safety procedures, and grow toward a long-term career in print manufacturing. On-site, full-time position with overtime opportunities.

Qualifications

• Experience reading and following work orders and safety rules.
• Ability to read basic job instructions and measurements.
• Basic math and measuring skills.
• Willingness to learn and be trained on bindery equipment.
• Team player with reliable attendance.

Responsibilities

• Feed books/signatures into the finishing machines.
• Pack books into cartons for shipping.
• Move materials safely to and from workstation.
• Perform hand operations as required.
• Work with a team to hit daily production goals.
• Inspect finished products for quality standards.

What You’ll Do

• Feed books/signatures into machine
• Pack books into cartons
• Safely move materials/books to and from workstation
• Perform hand operations as required
• Work as part of a team to hit daily production goals
• Inspect finished products to ensure they meet quality standards
• Follow safety procedures and help maintain a clean, organized workspace

What We’re Looking For

No bindery experience? No problem—we’ll train you.

• Have experience operating machineryin any industry (manufacturing, warehouse, trades, etc.)
• High school Diploma or general education degree (GED); or one to three months related experience and /or training; or equivalent combination of education or experience
• Ability to read and comprehend instructions
• Ability to read and interpret documents such as work orders, workplace, and safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals
• Basic math skills, add subtract, and ability to use a measuring device
• Basic problem-solving skills
• Are mechanically inclined and comfortable using basic tools
• Can read basic job instructions and measurements
• Take pride in doing quality work
• Show up reliably and work well with a team

It’s a plus if you have:

• Print, bindery, or finishing experience
• Experience setting up or adjusting production equipment

Physical & Work Environment

• On your feet for most of the shift
• Fast-paced, team-oriented production floor
• Lift up to 50 lbs occasionally
