Job summary

Sheridan is hiring for a Manufacturing Associate – Finishing/Bindery in Canton, OH. We’ll train you to operate high-speed bindery equipment, learn hands-on tasks, and contribute to producing books and printed materials for customers.

Day shift 7a–7p, full-time with overtime opportunities. No bindery experience required—training provided to develop skills and advance within a growing print manufacturing company.

Qualifications

• Experience operating machinery in any industry (manufacturing, warehouse, trades, etc.).
• Ability to read and comprehend instructions.
• Ability to read and interpret documents such as work orders, safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals.
• Basic math skills, adding/subtracting, and ability to use a measuring device.
• Basic problem-solving skills.
• Mechanically inclined and comfortable using basic tools.
• Able to read basic job instructions and measurements.
• Take pride in doing quality work.
• Show up reliably and work well with a team.

Responsibilities

• Feed books/signatures into machine.
• Pack books into cartons.
• Safely move materials/books to and from workstation.
• Perform hand operations as required.
• Work as part of a team to hit daily production goals.
• Inspect finished products to ensure quality.

What You’ll Do

• Feed books/signatures into machine

What We’re Looking For

No bindery experience? No problem—we’ll train you.

• Have experience operating machineryin any industry (manufacturing, warehouse, trades, etc.)
• High school Diploma or general education degree (GED); or one to three months related experience and /or training; or equivalent combination of education or experience
• Ability to read and comprehend instructions
• Ability to read and interpret documents such as work orders, workplace, and safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals
• Basic math skills, add subtract, and ability to use a measuring device
• Basic problem-solving skills
• Are mechanically inclined and comfortable using basic tools
• Can read basic job instructions and measurements
• Take pride in doing quality work
• Show up reliably and work well with a team

It’s a plus if you have:

• Print, bindery, or finishing experience
• Experience setting up or adjusting production equipment

Physical & Work Environment

• On your feet for most of the shift
• Fast-paced, team-oriented production floor
• Lift up to 50 lbs occasionally
